Madame Butterfly Drawings
Leonardo da Vinci: “When the Spirit does not work with the Hand, there is no Art”
Anna Chromy has a great facility to draw. The scenes of the Opera Madame Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini are just one example.
Here is Anna’s opinion about the importance to draw:
“I believe that an idea has to be expressed through something made with my Hands. All my art starts by drawing the concept. I consider drawing as the honesty of art because there is no possibility of cheating. Drawing is a great aesthetic and intellectual discipline, which allows me to analyze my perception of the world. None of my sculptures would be imaginable without my ability to draw, because it is a constant dialogue between eye, mind, and my hands”.
