Equus
The mystery of the horse, men's oldest companion, the beauty of the animal's
head has always fascinated Anna Chromy. Before starting to sculpt horses,
horses and especially horse's heads appear in many of her works, such as "Animal
love", "Sisyphos",
"Between
Heaven and Hell", "Horse
heads", "Maestoso
Austria", "Carnival
in Venice" or "Nightingale".
In Anna Chromy´s "Don Giovanni"
only the head of a stallion was able to convey the feeling of vigor and eroticism
which the sculptor wanted to portray in the figure of the eternal Don Juan.
